Missing two, three, or more teeth doesn’t mean you need an implant for each one. With multi-tooth implants, a few well-placed posts can support an implant bridge that fills the whole gap. You get teeth that stay fixed in place, with fewer implants and less surgery.
How Multi-Tooth Implants Work
Say you’re missing three teeth in a row. Instead of three implants, your dentist may place two, one at each end, and attach a three-tooth bridge to them. The bridge is fixed, so you don’t take it out, and it doesn’t lean on your natural teeth for support.
The right number of implants depends on where the gap is, how much bone you have, and how much force that part of your mouth handles when you chew. Your 3D scan helps us plan it.
Implants or a Partial Denture?
A partial denture is the other common way to replace several teeth. It costs less up front, but it’s a different experience day to day:
- Stability: Implant bridges are fixed. Partials clip onto your teeth and can shift.
- Comfort: Implant bridges have no metal clasps or plastic covering your gums.
- Bone health: Implants help keep your jawbone from shrinking. Partials don’t.
- Lifespan: Partials often need replacing every 5 to 10 years. Implants can last 20 years or more.
What to Expect
Request AppointmentPlanning
Your free consultation includes a 3D CBCT scan. Your dentist maps where each implant should go and gives you a written plan with costs.
Preparation
If any teeth need to come out, or the bone needs support, we handle that here, including extractions and bone grafting.
Placement and Healing
Your dentist places the implants in one visit, with sedation available. While the implants fuse with your bone over a few months, you can often wear a temporary so you’re not without teeth.
Your Final Bridge
We take digital impressions and attach your custom bridge, shaped and shaded to blend with your smile.

Multiple Tooth Implant FAQs
-
How many implants will I need?
It depends on how many teeth you're replacing and where. Often, two implants can support three or four teeth. Your scan tells us for sure. -
Can I replace teeth in different parts of my mouth?
Yes. We can plan implants for separate gaps at the same time, which can save you visits. -
Is it more painful than a single implant?
Not usually. Each site is numbed, and most patients manage any soreness with over-the-counter pain relievers. -
What if I'm missing most of my teeth?
All-on-4 implants may be a better fit. They replace a full arch on just four implants.
